MGB VI gets ISO recertification for Integrated Management Systems (IMS)

Iloilo City – The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office VI (MGB VI), Department of Environment and Natural Resources passed the recertification audit for the ISO Integrated Management Systems of the ISO.   NQA Philippines, Inc. conducted the surveillance audit on February 6, 2024 at the MGB VI office in Iloilo City.

MGB VI obtained its IMS certification on February 2018, and a first recertification in February 2021.  The IMS.  “An integrated management system is a single system designed to manage multiple aspects of an organization’s operations in line with multiple standards, such as those for quality, environmental and health and safety management,” according to NQA Global Certification Body.

The MGB VI IMS certification covers ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS), 14001:2015 Environmental Management System (EMS), and ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OHSMS).  In the Letter of Certification from NQA, MGB VI has fulfilled the requirements for a recertification.

The external auditor commended personnel commitment in implementing and maintaining the IMS, and competencies with updated professional licenses. MGB VI OIC Regional Director Cecilia L. Ochavo-Saycon congratulated the ISO team for achieving the IMS recertification, and emphasized the crucial role of each personnel in meeting the ISO standards, and still the greater results from their cooperation and collective work.  She also directed to provide regular updates on ISO compliances.  MGB VI has been ISO certified since January 2018.  (MGB RO-VI)
