MGB VI awards prizes to the winners of the photo-essay writing contest in celebration of the Climate Change Consciousness Week

Iloilo City – The DENR-Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office VI (MGB RO VI) announces the winners of the recently-concluded photo-essay writing contest in celebration of Climate Change Consciousness Week.

Fifteen students currently enrolled in the levels grades 7 to 12 in the different schools in Region 6 sent their entries before the contest closed on November 24, 2020.

The winners with the corresponding title of their winning entry are the following:

1^st place – Reivonne Angela J. Dalugdugan (Essay title: A Post Wall, A Sapling)

2^nd place – Tricia Anne M. Perlas (A Seed can Feed)

3^rd place – Lewilyn S. Olay (Controlling & Mitigating Climate Change: Better Practices in Iloilo)

4^th place – Andrei V. Boniba (Green Skyscrapers)

5^th place – Joseph Nicole T. Hiñosa (Climate Change Adaptation: A Pathway to Sustainability)

Each winner received a cash prize and certificate.  The first prize is 3,000.00,  Second Prize P2,000.00, Third Prize: P1,500.00, and the Fourth and Fifth Prizes received P1,000.00 each.

OIC-ORD Engr. Raul A. Laput awards the winners with a certificate and cash prize at the MGB VI Regional Office. MGB VI ensured that the prize would be sent to the winners who were not able to claim it at the regional office.
