MGB VI  passed the ISO surveillance audit, avowed to improve implementation

Iloilo City – The Mines and Geosciences Bureau VI, Department of Environment and Natural Resources passed the surveillance audit of an external certifying body conducted last July 18, 2023 that looked into the organization’s compliance to the Integrated Management System (IMS).

The surveillance audit covered ISO 9001:2015 for Quality Management Systems (QMS); ISO 14001:2015 for Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and ISO 45001:2018 for Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Management Systems.

NQA, the certifying body, presented the surveillance audit results, which showed the good points, opportunities for improvement, and one minor non-conformance that need action.  Among the good points included top management and staff commitment to implementing the Integrated Management System (IMS), well-maintained documented information, consistent good handling of records, and staff competencies.

The certifying body, NQA Philippines, recommended continuing MGB VI certification in the three standards.

MGB VI management and staff, while celebrating a successful and fruitful external audit, avowed to utilize the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) framework to bring about positive changes and enhancements in how they deliver their mandated services. The MGB VI ISO team once again commended the robust set of standards that promote efficiency, effectiveness, and quality, which are essential attributes for any public service organization, and strongly expressed their commitment to continuous improvement in ISO implementation.  (MGB VI)
