MGB RO 6 personnel honed their skills on business and technical writing

Iloilo City – Thirty-four personnel of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. 6 (MGB RO-6) attended the training on technical writing delivered by Dr. Annabelle A. Chavez and Ms. Lormi L. Rio of the University of St. La Salle (Bacolod).

The training was generally designed to hone the skills of MGB RO 6 personnel in business writing.  It was specifically intended as well to strengthen the knowledge and skills in technical writing of technical personnel who regularly produce technical reports from field activities of the MGB.

The training content included skills enhancement lectures and workshops on basic grammar and correct usage, writing different types and styles of business correspondence, and more tips on writing clearly.

20170120_103421The trainees agreed to apply what they have learned from the training in their day-to-day work.  Regional Director Leo Van V. Juguan said that such training is timely considering that the organization has grown in the past years and there are many newly hired personnel.  The Finance and Administrative Division headed by Ms. Cecilia L. Ochavo-Saycon said that similar skills enhancement training needed to deliver MGB’s work targets more effectively hence benefitting stakeholders will be delivered in the future.

The training was held on January 19-20, 2017 at the Iloilo Grand Hotel.
