Iloilo City – The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office VI (MGB VI), Department of Environment and Natural Resources passed the recertification audit conducted by an external certifying body NQA Philippines, Inc. on February 15, 2021.

In February 2018, NQA certified MGB VI in three ISO standards, the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS), ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System (EMS), and ISO 18001:2007 Occupational Health and Safety Assessment System (OHSAS.  The certification is in effect for three years and needs a recertification audit for its renewal.  According to Engr. He also commended the staff competencies with valid and updated PRC licenses as noteworthy, and the achievement of zero accident/illness both in the office and in the field. The auditor also stated that the inclusion of COVID 19 in the MGB VI Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC) and updated Office Safety Policy and Field Health and Safety are noteworthy.  He further emphasized that the observance of health and safety protocol against the transmission of COVID-19 is a good practice.
