Iloilo City – The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) will re-open the acceptance of applications for undergraduate scholarships for the second semester of school year 2017-2018. The deadline of the complete requirements is on January 19, 2018. Courses being offered are Bachelor of Science (BS) Geology, BS Mining Engineering, and BS Metallurgical Engineering.
Qualified to apply are first-time freshmen, currently enrolled college students and those who are not immigrants.
The applicant must not have failing grade, must have a General Weighted average (GWA) of not lower than 2.5, and must not be a recipient of other scholarship programs.
Benefits include a monthly stipend, tuition fee, transportation allowance, and assured employment upon graduation.
Qualified applicants must submit the following documents:
- Application Form
- Form 138/Transcript of Records
- Police or NBI Clearance
- Latest Income Tax Returns of Parents
- Medical Certificate.

For applicants whose parents have no income, a certification of no income or no tax filing issued by the barangay or the BIR is required.
