MGB RO VI recruiting mining engineers and geologists to be deployed in the PENROs

Iloilo City – The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Regional Office VI is currently recruiting graduates of geology, mining engineering, and environmental science graduates who will be deployed to the in the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) of the DENR in the six provinces of Region 6.

MGB RVI Regional Director Leo Van V. Juguan said that deploying mining engineering, geology or environmental science specialists in the field office of the DENR is in line with the directives of the DENR Secretary Roy A. Cimatu to regulate the mining industry through the strict implementation of mining laws.  The presence of mining and geology specialists will strengthen the capacities of the PENROs to enforce mining laws and respond to environmental concerns at the ground level.

Recruitment is on-going and successful applicants will be hired on a contractual basis.  They will be deployed to the different DENR 6 PENROs by February this year after undergoing an orientation and training on environmental and mining laws. (MGB ROVI)
