Iloilo City – The Mines and Geosciences Bureau, Regional Office 6 (MGB RO-6) presented its major programs and projects during the CSO consultation of the DENR Region 6 on February 27, 2019 at the DENR 6 activity center.
The CSO consultation is supervised by the NEDA in light of the 2013 DBM Guidelines on Partnership with Civil Society Organizations (CSO) and other stakeholders in preparation of agency budget proposals. It aims to institutionalize participatory budgeting by engaging NGOs and POs to give feedbacks on the Programs and Projects (PAPs) of various implementing agencies. CSOs engaged in the different programs of the government in Region 6 attended the consultation.
MGB RO-6 Planning Officer Ms. Pauline Marie Jordan presented the agency’s 2018-2019 PAPs that include the conduct of awareness and advocacy on mineral resources and geosciences; issuance of mining contracts/permits including areas within mineral reservations and other related permits; monitoring of approved mining contracts/permits in their compliance to the different work programs on safety, health, environmental protection and social development; land geological assessment and field mapping survey and conduct of IEC to LGUs.
The NEDA gathered the feedback of CSO on the effectiveness of government programs and how implementation can be improved to achieve the planned outcome. (MGB RO-6)
