MGB 6 Regional Director Leo Van V. Juguan delivered the opening remarks. He said that June is truly a special month for the DENR as it is the lead agency in celebrating the Philippine Environment Month. This year’s theme “Connecting People to Nature” is a call to reflect on the mutual dependency of humans to nature for survival as the environment, in turn, depends on the care of people for its protection and sustainability.

The DENR 6 with line bureaus MGB 6 and EMB 6 will have a series of activities aimed at drumbeating greater awareness on the importance and vulnerability of the environment towards positive public action.

MGB will hold a stakeholders’ forum that would inform and engage stakeholders such as mining companies, non-government organizations, local government units, academe, and media on the programs and services of the MGB.

We aim to facilitate the forum to encourage our stakeholders to a continuous dialogue on the good practices, policy gaps, challenges, and commitments in pursuing the directive of the DENR Secretary Roy A. Cimatu to prioritize environmental protection in all mining activities through the full implementation of existing law20170605_091927s on clean air, clean water and solid waste management, RD Juguan said.
