MGB RO-6, DENR conducted a fire drill with BFP-Iloilo City

Iloilo City – The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office 6, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (MGB RO-6, DENR) held a seminar seeking the expertise of the Bureau of Fire Protection – Iloilo City Station on fire safety, search and rescue on July 26, 2019, at the Iloilo Grand Hotel.  A fire drill followed at the MGB RO-6 office and 55 personnel of MGB RO 6 actively participated.

BFP Iloilo City Station resource persons were Fire Officer (FO) 2 John Michael Laña and FO 2 Elaine Joy Eduardo on fire safety who also supervised the fire drill, while and BFP Special Rescue Unit FO 3 Elmer Napolis as team leader discussed about search and rescue.

MGB RO-6 scored a perfect 10 in the fire drill as evaluated by the BFP Iloilo City team.  Regional Director Roger A. de Dios recognized the expertise and support of the BFP-Iloilo City to equip the employees on how to keep themselves safe should there be fire incidents.

The fire safety seminar and fire drill is in line with the MGB RO-6 compliance to ISO 18001:215 OHSAS or Occupational Health and Safety Management Certification.
