MGB has 12 undergraduate scholarship slots for SY 2017-2018

Iloilo City – The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has 12 available undergraduate scholarship slots for the school year 2017-2018.  Courses being offered are Bachelor of Science (BS) Geology, BS Mining Engineering, and BS Metallurgical Engineering.

Those who are first-time freshmen, currently enrolled college students and are not immigrants are qualified to apply.

The eligibility criteria state that the applicant must not have failing grade, must have a General Weighted Average (GWA) of not lower than 2.5 and must not be a recipient of other scholarship programs.

The benefits include a monthly stipend, tuition fee, transportation allowance, and assured employment upon graduation.

Qualified applicants must submit the following documents:

  1. Application Form
  2. Form 138/Transcript of Records
  3. Police or NBI Clearance
  4. Latest Income Tax Returns of Parents
  5. Medical Certificate.

For applicants whose parents have no income, a certification of no income or no tax filing issued by the barangay or the BIR is required.

Applications must be submitted directly to the MGB Central Office.  For applicants outside Metro Manila, applications may be sent through courier to the following address:
