Iloilo City – The Mines and Geosciences Bureau VI (MGB-6), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) invites all secondary school level (Grades 7-12) students in Region 6 to join the photo-essay contest in celebration of the National Climate Change Consciousness Week on November 19-25, 2022.
The celebration is pursuant to Proclamation No. 1667, series of 2008 declaring November 19 to 25, 2008, and every year after that as a week dedicated to raise awareness on climate change. This year’s theme is “Sama-samang Tumutugon sa Hamon ng Nagbabagong Klima.”
In line with this, MGB-6 has launched a photo-essay contest to raise awareness among the youth on climate change.
The contest is open to all currently enrolled students in the secondary level (Grades 7-12) in Region VI. Only one (1) entry per student shall be submitted. An entry shall be comprised of the following: an original photo or series of photos (maximum of four photos) in portrait or landscape orientation depicting the topic and a one to three-paragraph essay in English with a minimum of 160 words and not exceeding 200 words, succinctly and creatively describing the attached photo.
Each entry must be submitted using an appropriate title in bold letters, font Times New Roman 12 in single space and the file must be in MS Word format. The entries must also include the contact information of the participant on a separate sheet. All entries must be emailed to climatechangephotoessay.mgbvi@gmail.com on or before the deadline on November 25, 2022. (MGB VI)
