“Ikaw kag Ang Imo Palibot” tackles MGB permit issuance requirements and statistical reports

Iloilo City – The Mines and Geosciences Bureau, Department of Environment and Natural Resources Regional Office 6 (MGB, DENR RO-6) tackled the agency’s programs and services focusing on contracts and permits issuance and production of statistical reports during the DENR-6 radio program “Ikaw Kag Ang Imo Palibot” on March 21, 2018.

Engr. Jolepe O. Suerte, Chief of the Monitoring and Technical Services Section of the Mine Management Division discussed the major types of mining contracts, permits and agreements that are being filed with the MGB, DENR RO 6, namely the Exploration Permit, Mineral Production Sharing Agreement, Financial and Technical Assistance Agreement, Industrial Sand and Gravel Permit covering 5 hectares up to 20 hectares, Small Scale Mining Permit (within Mineral Reservation) and the Mineral Processing Permit.  He further elaborated on the mandatory requirements for each type of permit or agreement.

Ms. Leslie Grace N. Cedeles, Economist II, on the other hand, talked about the different statistical reports being generated by the MGB, DENR particularly on production, sales and employment of mining operations.  Such statistical data are being used by different government agencies in getting an accurate data on mining’s contribution to the economy.  MGB, DENR statistical reports are accessible online for the easy use of researchers and other data users.

The program is being aired every Wednesday over the DYLL Radyo Pilipinas and tackles the different programs and services of the DENR.  (MGB, DENR RO-6)
