MGB, DENR RO-6 finds indigenous material and rock sites to restore heritage structures in Region 6 with the National Historical Commission of the Philippines

Dr. Leilanie O. Suerte, Supervising Geologist of the MGB 6 and Ms. Anne Karla M. Navarro, Geologist II of MGB Central Office accompanied the team of the NHCP composed of Jim Franklin O. Kalaw, Janine Therese J. Francisco and Leonie-Lor D. Jizmundo in looking for rock samples and quarry sites that would be suitable to restore the heritage sites identified by the NHCP. 

Four churches in Iloilo were identified as heritage sites that will be restored by the NHPC.  These are Santo Tomas de Villanueva in Miagao, San Joaquin in San Joaquin, Sta. Monica in Pavia, and Santa Barbara in Sta. Barbara, Iloilo.  In Antique and Capiz, two heritage sites will be restored by the NHCP, the Patnongon Ruins in Patnongont and the Sta. Monica church in Pan-ay, respectively.   (MGB6, DENR)
