DENR, MGB-6 donates face mask to WVMC frontliners

The personnel of the DENR-Mines and Geosciences Bureau (DENR-MGB) in Region 6 has donated  a total of 2,560 pieces of surgical masks to the medical frontliners of the Western Visayas Medical Center (WVMC) of the Department of Health (DOH). MGB-6 responded to the call of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region 6 and pooled personal funds to extend help to those affected by COVID-19 in a fund-raising initiative, “Kasimanwa Ko, Palangga Ko.” DENR-6 Regional Executive Director Franciso T. MGB RO 6 service awardees and retiree honored

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office 6 (MGB RO 6) DENR recognized employees who have been in the service for 30 years and above.  One retiree was given recognition as well. The MGB RO 6 DENR Service awardees as of December 31, 2016 were awarded a plaque of recognition on January 10, 2017 during a gathering of the MGB RO 6 at Sarabia Manor Hotel. The service awardees with their number of years in service are the following: Emma O. Suerte – 40 years Leo Van V. Juguan – 39 years Hermelinda P. Licauan – 30 years Elpidio F. Alorro – 35 years Dominga U. Sepacio – 34 years Rene B. de la Cruz –34 years Alexandro B. MGB RO-6 participated in the seminar workshop on Government Accounting Manual and 2015 Year-End Closing of the Books in Cagayan de Oro City

Five employees from the Mines and Geosciences Bureau RO-6 (MGB RO-6) attended the MGB seminar-workshop on the implementation of the Government Accounting Manual and the 2015 Year-End Closing of the Books on January 10-15, 2016 in Cagayan de Oro City.  The event was also a conference to discuss administrative matters and mechanisms for the smooth management of regional offices.  The MGB RO-6 delegation was spearheaded by Ms. Cecilia L. Ochavo-Saycon, Chief of the Finance and Administrative Division with personnel from the Human Resource Management, Budget, General Services and Accounting Sections namely Ms. Rowena L. Catalan, Ms. Rhea Marie T. Solin, Ms. Lourdes F. Gigare and Ms. Hermelinda P. Licauan, respectively. During the opening program, Ms. Eloisa L. Legaspi, Chief of the Financial Management Division of the MGB Central Office gave an overview of the seminar-workshop to tackle the provisions of the Government Accounting Manual.  The activity was intended to harmonize the understanding of accounting policies towards a more improved implementation of financial policies and procedures and preparation of various MGB financial reports.  Each regional office discussed the preparation of MGB Financial Reports as well as the Consolidated Notes to Financial Statement during the workshop.  Each regional office presented their output for critiquing of the body.   A Reorientation of the Procurement Act was tackled by Ms. Edna Lorilla, MGB CO Chief of the Administrative Division for a more efficient implementation government procurement policies and...
